Hypothesis

       Project 1

Investigation on genetically modified seeds to see if it grows better than normal seeds.

(a)   State the independent variable
The normal seeds in the pot.

(b)   State the dependent variable
      The genetically modified seeds.
·

(c)   Suggest a hypothesis

The genetically modified plant will grow at a fast rate despite the other normal seeds in the pot

(d) State 3 variables that you should keep constant.

- Amount of water given to plant
- Amount of light given to plant
- Location where the plant is grown

Project 2

Investigation on water plants to determine the water quality.

(a)   State the independent variable
      The quality of the water.

(b)   State the dependent variable
      The water plants used.

(c)   Suggest a hypothesis
The worse the water quality, the lesser number of water plants in the container.

(d) State 3 variables that you should keep constant.
- Amount of light
      - The type of water plant used

        - Constant number of water plants

Project 3

Investigation of the effect of different types of greywater on plants.

(a)   State the independent variable
      The type of greywater used.

(b)   State the dependent variable
       The plant used.

(c)   Suggest a hypothesis
Normal tap water would let the plant grow the best.

(d) State 3 variables that you should keep constant.
- Amount of greywater used
- Type of plant used
- The number of times the greywater is used

What is the Scientific Method?

  1. Method of procedure that has characterized natural science consisting in systematic observation, measurement, experiment, formulation, testing, and modification of hypotheses.
